New PTZ cam from Andy question.

You will miss important captures if you have it scanning all the time.
More fixed cams are most always better than an PTZ, PTZ has a high likelihood of looking the wrong way when something happens.
Yes, agreed. If there would not have been 3 stationary cameras covering the area, I wouldn't have even thought about it. But now we can have zooms of the tanks and a much closer view of multiple things on the site. Granted, the PTZ will be missing other captures, but it already misses a bunch because a PTZ just doesn't have a wide field of view anyway.

Depending on the scene, you could leave the PTZ parked in one view, with IVS rules for tracking, and have the other cameras double as spotter cams for the PTZ.
Each camera would have its view, and that view would be setup as another preset on the PTZ.
So when another camera see something, it tells the PTZ to spin around and go to that view/preset. Each preset on the PTZ would have its own set of IVS rules to pick up a target and initiate tracking
Oh, that is an interesting idea. I think I had seen that somewhere before, but had never thought of doing it. Is there a tutorial on how to do that. I think I really like the idea and would like to experiment with it if I would be able to figure out how to do it. Thanks for the suggestion.

All setup and ready to go. I don't know if I will keep it touring or not. Probably not, after this. It works well.
