New PTZ cam from Andy question.

Yes, agreed. If there would not have been 3 stationary cameras covering the area, I wouldn't have even thought about it. But now we can have zooms of the tanks and a much closer view of multiple things on the site. Granted, the PTZ will be missing other captures, but it already misses a bunch because a PTZ just doesn't have a wide field of view anyway.

Oh, that is an interesting idea. I think I had seen that somewhere before, but had never thought of doing it. Is there a tutorial on how to do that. I think I really like the idea and would like to experiment with it if I would be able to figure out how to do it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thread 'Using Spotter Cameras to direct a PTZ where to look in an NVR or Blue Iris and setting a spotter cam as a priority in Blue Iris'

We get this question from time to time, so I thought with the recent addition to BI, it made sense to have a thread we can point to.

Previously in BI, if you had more than one spotter cam, you could not make one a priority, so if spotter cam #1 triggered the PTZ and it starts tracking and spotter cam #2 is triggered, it would then take the PTZ off of spotter cam #1 tracking and move to the preset for spotter cam #2.

Now with BI 5.5.6.0, you can go into the PTZ tab in the Camera setttings and go to the preset that you want to have priority and check the "cancel alerts when the camera is...

Thread 'Setting up spotter camera for ptz'

Hi all, i purchased a spotter camera from @EMPIRETECANDY and also have a PTZ from empire as well.
Can someone explain or show me how to set it up to turn the ptz when the spotter detects?
I have everything set up on both cameras with IVS, but need to know how to set the alarm or what ever to make the ptz move to the preset.

All setup and ready to go. I don't know if I will keep it touring or not. Probably not, after this. It works well.
