New router No LIVE preview on web.

I had my cameras setup and working, and I had to get a new router cause the old one went out. its a G3100 from Verizon. I was able to access the cameras via the old ip internal network to the house and I can see the live preview.(192.168.1.201:81)
I set up port forwarding in the router and I was able to get into the web settings via the web port (167.67.154.***:8001) but the live preview is not working on the external link. I can manage all the setting but the live preview is not working. I also can't get the live video in the hikvision app via the external ip.
my cameras are:
DS-2CD2083G2-IU
on most up to date firmware:
V5.7.19 build 241207

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
 
Do you know what the IP of the LAN/gateway of the old router was? It was likely different from the new one and it's easiset to log into the webGUI of the new router and set up it's LAN/gateway IP to be the same as the old one.

BTW, port forwarding is NOT recommended.
 
how is web view best accomplished with these cameras? with hikconnect? i see theres 4 options for platform access (they're all turned off),
