I purchased a Dahua PTZ camera from Andy's Amazon store. Starlight SD1A203T-GN.

I also bought a 4x Netgear POE switch.

I haven't decided yet on an NVR or computer running Blue Iris so I decided to run the demo version of Blue Iris in the meantime.

I was able to connect and initialize the camera using the Dahua Config tool. But I can't connect to it via IE using the default IP. I also can't connect to it with Blue Iris by looking up the IP. I downloaded SmartPSS and again I can't find it via the IP.

So the only tool that can see it is the Dahua Config tool and I can't actually log in to it to start testing it out.

Help please?

Ok, good news. I figured it out. It was all an issue with my computer IP address. Once I found my ipv4 address and set the camera to the same subnet, I was able to connect.

Follow-up question, though. When I picked up the camera to move it, I noticed that it was warm. Like, really warm. I wasn't expecting it. Is that normal?

That camera has had a few reports of being warm to the touch. Glad you got the IP stuff all figured out!
