New to PoE IP Cams with Blue Iris with AI

Only records or only triggers? Two different things but triggering is what will cause it to record assuming that you're not recording continuous.

In any case, motion is using BI's motion detection not that from the cam. If you only want triggers from the cam, then you'd run only with ONVIF checked. You also need the box checked under Video > Configure > Get ONVIF trigger events to have BI pick up the ONVIF triggers.

Hmm maybe im just not getting it right!

In my driveway I have this one tripwire for ppl / cars into it. Nothing happens

Here are my BI settings. What am I missing / have I done wrong!

I feel everything else is honky dory, just not getting this right!

My goal is only when tripwires are crossed --> record --> alert! Nothing else to start with!

Main and substream also up and running

Is it this?

You need to select Get ONVIF Triggers and then hit find/inspect again.

One tripwire at the edge (top) of the field of view will miss.

The camera needs time to "see" the object and determine if it is an object to be triggered on. By the time that happens, the person could be past that trip wire or enough of the body or car that it wont trigger.

Most will do a zig-zag pattern or in your case if you only want it to trigger coming towards the camera, then several trip wires.

You will also want to turn off/uncheck under OBJECT DETECTION both the move 100 pixels and reset at 67% - those are used to eliminate false triggers and you have the opposite going on. None of my cameras use this feature.

Ok thx for advice

Just to be crystal clear. Is motion sensor needed in BI ticked?
Under it I have ticked off Onvif/camera events

I have tampered with so many settings now it just records everything. Livingroom clips again and again of every tiny bit of movement, shadow cast!

And what about these? Leave at default or only enable say line crossing e.g

If you only want the camera IVS to trigger then yes uncheck Motion Detection.

As long as you are only using line crossing, then yes that is correct.
