Hi guys/gals,

Title says it all. I've been lurking for a few weeks and finally pulled the trigger on 6 Hikvision 4 MP bullet cameras!!!

I built a gaming rig last Christmas that I'm hoping to convert into a Blue Iris and Plex server; I'm geeked! Thanks again for all the helpful posts I've been lurking for the last few weeks.

The gaming rig parts:
Intel i7 6700k
ASUSZ170 Deluxue Motherboard
32GB DDR4 G.skill something
512 GB m.2 SSD (Samsung 950 Pro)
GeForce 960 Ti
Corsair 1000W Gold something PSU

Sold the 980 Ti to fund the hard drives:
4x 3TB WD Red (for Plex)
4x 3TB WD Purple (for Blue Iris)

Saving the gaming case for a new build in a few months so put it in a Rosewill 4U and had to pick up a PCI-e SATA III card to add 2 hard drives, also discovered the 4u rack case doesnt work with liquid cooling so I need to grab a new CPU heatsink.

Dont use a dedicated video card...blue iris benefits from intel HD with quicksync, it needs that for hardware acceleration. Also, turret style cameras a better choice than bullets. You dont need a 1000w power supply for this application..it will not be efficient.
