I'm trying to understand how to set up the mainstream vs. substream parameters on my DVR. Also, I'm trying to understand whether or not substream is only for remote viewing of a "Live View" or if it can also be used for remote viewing of "Playback"?? I have 2MP TVI cameras and have set the mainstream as follows:
Resolution:1280*720
Bitrate Type: variable
Video Quality:Higher
Frame Rate 15
Max Bitrate:3000
The substream is set as:
Resolution:352*240
Bitrate Type: Constant
Video Quality:Medium (this is non-adjustable if bitrate type=constant)
Frame Rate:6
Max Bitrate:512
The problem is that my upload DSL speed is really low (<1MB) so my remote viewing (substream) of Live View is very choppy. I haven't yet understood how to use the substream in remote viewing of Play Back (I think this is coming over with the Main stream parameters and is therefore ridiculously choppy).
