Clearly the top image is more washed out, with brighter blacks. So the bottom image 'looks' better. But for CCTV purposes, I don't think there is any quantifiable difference between them. Both show the same detail near and far, on dark and on bright surfaces.

Noise reduction is also a lot more effective on the lower image. At least in a still image. Of course, a better comparison would be videos of moving objects.

But I suspect the older cam is no longer installed in that location, since the pictures were 6 days apart.

I adjusted the camera and it looks a lot better now at night. Compare the below image with my original image above of my old 4K camera with a smaller 1/2.5 sensor.
