Night performance from Hikvison and Longse

LED, on dome it will reflect back and just make it worse.

Oo, that's how I did it. How would one aim this camera differently?

How about the aim on this one?

This looks like a bad angle to me, unless you are not trying to see the face.

Yeah, I think it got mounted a foot too high. Solutions?

Working on cams, enjoying a brew. Can you name the beer?

I meant on the second pic you posted with the tree, but on the first one looks ok.

I am also scratching my head how to mount one of my new Longse cams on the small porch without having to be either too low to reach and yet too high not being able to get the face ID.

Gotcha. The 2nd pic is mounted on eave due to aesthetics and wire routing. Should I aim it "up" more?

rotate it 90 degrees and put it in corridor mode, put it no higher than the top of your door..

this is where your domes will shine, they can come down within reach.

i would put try turning it ~90 degrees and put it in corridor mode, maybe aiming it down a bit more.

I cant find corridor mode in camera interface. Longse IE interface. Is there another way to enable corridor mode?

It's in settings called "Corridor pattern"

DOH! s500 has this offering, but the a400 mini-dome on my door does not offer that :(
Strange... that corridor pattern is pretty much useless on s500 because it's 4:3

anything for image rotation? what NVR do you use? BI might be able to rotate it for you if the camera wont.
