Hmmm. Just about any camera can brighten up a scene by slowing down the shutter speed. The reason most folks don't do that is because a slower shutter speed (in low light) will almost always cause objects in motion to blur details.

What LTS model do you have?
The LTS CMIP3342W-M. You can see a snapshot in the first message of this thread.

Yeah - I wonder if they have any newer models with newer/better sensors. Digging through their camera catalog is challenging (at least for me!).

It doesn't do anything on my 5231 either.

@bigredfish: is the 5442 basically the 4MP 2.8m fixed version of the 5231? Are there any other differences? I see it also has three streams which I need. It's also about the same price as the 5231.

BTW - those snaps look amazing! Wish I could get something that clear. It rained last night so I wasn't able to play with the camera position.

@bigredfish, with his driveway not having much street light etc, do you think a 5442 is likely to perform "better enough" (than a 5231) to be worth him trying? My driveway is like yours -- enough streetlight and other lights that seem to really help out.

I have cans above the soffit close to the camera that illuminate the driveway, but I think they actually are making things worse.

I guess the cans shining down over the camera doesn't help it. :(

I've got a 5231 working as an overview camera for my driveway. First pic is with just a 60W bulb in the center of the garage door on (plus ambient street light). Second pic is with the 60W bulb plus two 100W can lights in the soffit on the sides of the garage (plus the ambient street light).

Yeah that’s why I made mention of my lights and the IR problem. Hard to tell how much light he really has. In that first pic I see a streetlight, combine that with a couple coach lights with 100watt led’s and I think he’d have enough.

Really think he has a positioning issue

Yeah - I think it has to be positioning. I should have enough ambient light with the streetlight and can's over the garage door.

Hmmmm my 5231 and 5442 dont show my effect with WDR in B&W.

I wonder if various Exposure settings may disable it? I'll have to play around with it.
