NKB1000 won’t control SDT4E425 PTZ directly (works via NVR)

Hi all,

Trying to get an NKB1000 joystick to control an SDT4E425-8P-GB-APV1 PTZ directly over the network, with no NVR in between. The joystick connects, but PTZ controls don’t respond.

Firmware on the NKB1000 is v2.620.0000000.1, and the SDT4E425 is running v3.200.0000021.0.R. I’ve also tried Andy’s firmware (no difference).

Both devices are on the same VLAN, no firewall or NAT issues. I’ve tested ONVIF and DH2 modes. The joystick works perfectly when the camera is connected through my NVR5216-XI, but not directly.

I’m guessing it might be related to the PTZ cam using channel 2, while the keyboard expects it on channel 1. But I can’t find a way to tell the NKB1000 to switch channels. Doing CAM+2 or PTZ+2 doesn’t help.

Has anyone dealt with this before and gotten one a dual-channel Dahua PTZ to work directly - without routing through an NVR?

Appreciate any help. Thanks :)

Of course… I had a brainwave and figured it out literally minutes after posting this

The solution was to add the PTZ as an NVR dev, not as an SD. Once logged in, pressing 2 + PTZ and it worked instantly. Full control, no issues, also far snappier than going via NVR.

Been stuck on this for weeks. Typical timing, but hopefully this helps someone else avoid the same headache!

Good that you have got it working in SD/Speed dome.

There's a lot of different output types on my NKB1000,
DVR, NVR, Speed Dome, DVM, Matrix, NVMS, NVD , Matrix-AB (RS485?), SISO.
