I had an instance where my DeepStack installation failed. I run it on a separate box since the GPU won't fit into the PC I'm using for BI. It works fine over the network. My Linux installation appears to have upgraded something automatically and DS stopped working as a result. Thus BI would never send out any alerts.

Is there some way to tell BI to send out the alert if DS fails? This seems like a rather dangerous default to just ignore everything if DS is unavailable.

On my linux box I have php script that is called by a cronjob every minute. This script uses the curl command to 'download' the deepstack homescreen to a text file. If the file is not created then it sends me a pushover alert. If it is created it gets deleted in preparation for the next run.

Such a script could help alert me, but if I can't get to it and fix it, then I'd be running blind. I guess there is no way to deal with that. Maybe I'll submit a support ticket or whatever they call that. I'm on paid support.
