Getting the hang of it
Hey all
I'm finally making this official, after receiving a TON of great advice on one particular thread I started. Figured I should have some manners and check in on this thread.
The great advice I am finding here is helping me wade thru the marketing that the NVR packages sell.....and I have made the decision due to the great advice here....building out a BI system.
I started out with DVIEW cam and the cameras below....but then grew disatisfied with the DVIEW stuff....so I started looking at NVR systems like lorex.....and found that there is more HYPE than info out there.....and then turned here......learned that for the price of a decent NVR alone I could probably try to build a BI system. So I am going to try that route. I figure if nothing else I will ,learn a little about networking -- NOT my wheelhouse. LOL
I currently have two briillcam 1/2.8 cameras and an old DLINK WIFI camera....they are good "overview" cameras.......once I get the BI system, a VPN set up and the cameras off my main network, I will re-visit changing out cameras.
So THANKS to the folks who have already given me some great info and THANKS IN ADVANCE to those who answer what will surely be a TON of questions I still have to come.
