North Seattle shooting caught on camera
Surveillance video shared with KOMO News shows yet another shooting near Aurora Avenue North, an area in north Seattle notorious for gun violence, drugs, and prostitution.
The shooting happened around 12:20 p.m. Saturday on the 10200 block of Linden Avenue North in Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood. The Seattle Police Department said responding officers found more than half a dozen shell casings at the scene.
The video shows a silver Maserati traveling slowly along Linden Avenue North before a silver Jeep pulls up and attempts to block its path. The driver of the Jeep can be seen getting out of the vehicle before he pulls out a pistol and fires at least eight shots at the driver’s side of the Maserati.
The Maserati quickly drove away from the scene headed southbound, and the suspect could be seen getting back into the Jeep to pursue the victim's vehicle. The SPD said the suspect is described as a Black man in his 20s “with shoulder-length locks.” The man was last seen wearing a black hoodie.
Seattle police said no injuries were reported after the shooting and responding officers were unable to find either vehicle after searching the area. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
