Hey all, just installed a z12e camera focused on a section of road and I'm getting no motion events. Tried using both motion and IVS, as well as smart motion on/off and i'm not figuring out the setting i'm doing wrong.

It basically looks correct.

Are you recording to an SD card or an NVR or VMS or other program?

At that tight of a field of view, SMD and IVS will be a challenge. The camera first needs to see an object and then determine if it meets the criteria and if so then trigger.

If you are using this for LPR purposes, SMD and IVS will not work at night.

Yeah figured that about smd not working that close, surprised regular motion should be working though.

And recording 24x7 with a dahua nvr, not getting the events there either. Recording events also to a local sd card

Are you setting it up in the NVR settings or the camera GUI?

Looks like you haven't enabled motion/IVS within the recording schedule correctly.

A few weeks ago I had one camera that wasn't posting IVS events on the NVR. I verified the camera was putting a box around the moving objects and flashing the trigger line red. I was not able to fix it with any settings. As a desperation move I deleted the camera from the NVR and added it back in, problem fixed. Since you probably just added this camera to the NVR, I wouldn't bet a lot on this being the fix, but doesn't hurt to try.
