Notes from the Swamp

I "chased" an opossum out of my back yard three times in the dead of night yesterday. It came back a fourth time when I went for my early morning walk and ate all of the cat food on a porch table.

Looking at the porch camera, it made another return appearance around 1:00 A.M. today and spent over twenty minutes eating all of the cat food and sipping water. The opossum is quite plump.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought it was about Washington D. C.
 
Gators are out and about now that our Winter appears to be over.

There's at least 2-3 adults and a couple of babies (2-3ft) being seen daily in our little cove.

This one from today I think is an older male, and was posing for the tour boats for half the day over in the turning basin.
I caught him on his way down the canal looking for a munchie no doubt.

^^^ Why do you have a snow shovel hanging on that pole at the lower right? I did not think it snowed much where you live.
