We recently setup a hikvision setup at our home complex at the main gate with a handful of 2MP acusense bullets and a 2MP Vari-focal bullet (DS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZS) NPR camera attached to a DS-7115NI-K2/16P NVR. What I did not know at the time was for us to make use of the NPR functionalities, I would have to be connected to the camera directly as the NVR does not support the functionality. Looking at my options, the most logical sense at this point was to get a POE injector and connect the NPR camera directly to the router, setup a virtual server / port forwarding and I should be good to go. I purchased a passive POE adapter along with a 12V power supply, connected the camera and on the camera reset the network to the new IP address in the routers network range. Get confirmation that the camera will reboot, connected the camera to the router, waited 5, 10 minutes but the camera does not come up. Plug it back into the NVR and minutes later camera is back up with the original IP address. I tried DHCP, same story. Is there no way that the NVR can be configured to pass along requests from it's subnet to the cameras subnet? Is there a different way for me to setup the network on the camera to ensure it stays with the newly created IP addresses?

Thank you in advance

The usual way to directly reach a camera web GUI on a Hikvision PoE NVR is to use the 'Virtual Host' facility of the NVR.

Activate this under the NVR web GUI Network | Advanced Settings | Other tab.
Use it via the link in the Connect column of System | Camera Management

You're an absolute champion, works like a charm!

Is there a way to give the camera gateway / internet access? I want the camera to trigger some emails but obviously without a gateway this is not possible, or can this only be configured on the NVR?
