My NVR4108HS-4P-4KS2 has just died. PSU meters @ 48vdc. Unplugged hdd tried reset I think she's dead.

Is that guy on Aliexpress still the best person to buy off?

Does anyone have a link to his store and what NVR would you recommend? I need POE

Cheers

There are many option only thing that matters is what you are willing to pay and that options you want. Having a costly today model or less costly yesterday model with normal options. You looking for future upgrade ability or just a replacement for what you have now?

I'm on a budget, something similar would be fine. I don't have any 4k cameras so 1080 only is ok. Remote access is a must

I am fairly certain he quit selling on AliExpress. If you are in a location where that is the preferred vendor, then reach out to him via DM and order directly.

I've just metered the CMOS battery @2.7vdc would this cause it not to boot?
No, that's only for maintaining the RTC (Real Time Clock) when the NVR is not connected to external AC power.

ali express is sketchy,

My Hikvision POE NVR also just died, PSU gone.
Although the various models and brands of PSU used in Hikvision NVRs are widely available on Aliexpress, it's a slow and quite expensive buying route.
There is a UK source I've used a couple of times that's quick and actually lower cost than Aliexpress -

I am thinking in just upgrading the whole thing as it's getting on a bit. The Hikvision AcuSence NVR's peak my interest, but can't see one for sale here thats M-Series and 8 channel POE.
