Getting the hang of it
I didn't want to hijack the lengthy thread on the NVR5216 series but based on the photos on that and other threads this Lorex NVR is very similar, and specification wise a twin to the NVR4208 8P with slightly tweaked software/firmware to reflect Lorex rather than Dahua.
This has been part of my education quest with a 60 day return policy to try it. For me personally, this will definitely be returned and will move to an 8 PoE switch, preferably fanless, mated with either a Dahua non-PoE NVR or a dedicated computer/Blue Iris setup.
I tried to be fair and objective in the analysis. I intentionally didn't link the two brands together, just mentioning it here. Enjoy.
