are the NVR5216-EI and NVR5-EI SERIES (16ch) the exact same thing?


if they are, are they the correct NVR's for the 5442 series cameras (IPC-HDW5442TM-ASE-S3) & (IPC-HDW5442T-ZE-S3) which will allow you to access all the cameras features and settings from the NVR?


also, are the 5442 series cams still the best night performers for the turret style IR cams? any 4K turrets with the same performance or better?

Yes, they are the same...
Dahua 5xxx-EI NVR series is a dedicated series for Dahua 5xxx-S3 cams - they supports all cams features (especially all AI functionality like AcuPick 2.0).

Almost all cams settings are available via NVR interface - but sometimes they lacks all options and sometimes You must log to camera web service to change that.

5442-S3 series is best night performer with IR on market now.

You should get in the habit of making all changes /settings on the camera GUI directly not the NVR. Otherwise You will eventually be disappointed when shit doesnt work right

a few more questions regarding these series of cameras and NVR

what web browser is best recommended for firmware upgrades and configuring settings? i heard firefox, edge, chrome can be used but i want to be certain i don't mess anything up.

also, regards to firmware updates, what is the best procedure with these cams in terms of having to do factory defaults, etc? is default enough or do you have to do factory default and get rid of even the network settings? i've seen somewhere where you should default, firmware upgrade, and then default 3 more times. is this necessary with this series?
