NVR5XXX-4KS2 latest new firmware.

Anyone has changelog for V3.216? What does they change in this release? Any new features add?

If I remember correctly the biggest “update” was exporting now allows directly to mp4 in addition to dav. However in reading the consensus is that if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it. I’m still on December 2017 firmware that it shipped with. NVR has been running perfectly with zero issues and I’m not looking to start having any!

I use it on a nvr4104-4ks2. Nothing special new, one option has come and this is maybe a bigger one, you can activate now smart codec from nvr and this seems to mean, that the smart codec integration is now officially.
I am not sure, but maybe this also means that ivs is working with smart codec also offically (I use it yet in some setups on earlier releases)

Hi guys,

I was looking around for a new firmware and got in the Dahua's Spain website.
It reports a new firmware dated 20180426 implementing new function I am interesting in as the zero channel settings. Until now I can get the rtsp stream using this command line:

rtsp://user:password@ipaddress:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=17&subtype=0

What you get are the 16 cameras but there is not possibility to get a different number unless manually changing each time in the live view of the NVR interface the camera grid.

Do you know (I am referring especially to Andy) if we can use this firmware or when the Dahua's guys are releasing something for us? :-)

Hi Andi,

what is the differences between "DHI" and "DH"version? I haven't uploaded yet as I was not sure which firmware to use. I bought the NVR 5216 and the cameras from you ;-)

there is newer version 3.2.3 should we be updating?

With all updates there are risks... The risk you take is it could screw things up for you, or it could not. If the update brings something new to the table that you really need then take the risk.
Or wait until others have tried it and reported back, either good or bad.
But there is a saying "If it ain't broke then why try to fix it"
If your device is blocked from accessing the internet and you haven't got any port forwarding, then even if this update fixed a security hole then it's not going to effect you either way.

Tested on a couple of NVR's (5216-4KS2 and 5208-8P-4KS2), from the SmartPSS, but also from the IE, I'm no longer able to manage the IVS, via the SmartPSS a warning says 'No operation authority', IE says 'Does no support configuration search or modification', and both don't let you go further. But it does work directly on the NVR, or via chrome and IE tab.
Tests in progress.....

But now the previously named 'Smart search' is called 'AI search' :), and switching the monitor's resolution, doesn't involve restarting the NVR

buddy, you test the latest new firmware? all ok? I think future AI tech will use more on new generation cams. :)

was looking at upgrading my nvr but looks like there are stll some issues so probably best to wait..

I am running this new firmware (216) and it seems to be fine. I've switched back and forth 215<->216 at least twice, so it should be all right for you to test it - you can revert back. From new features I've noticed secure ftp, which did not work for me. The main reason that I upgraded was because I had some problems with ftp. The new version fixes some, but there one problem still remains: periodically (once a month or so) it gets stuck on trying to ftp one file and keeps uploading it again and again (until I format HDD).

Also I seemed to have a problem up/down grading - UI gets screwed up - but repeated attempts fixed that.

Hi All,

Need you help with NVR5216-4KS2 compatibility. I can't make it to detect cameras with the models below. It always says "Device not compatible".

Cameras used:
DH-IPC-HFW4433K-I4
DH-IPC-HDBW443R-AS

If i use the cameras above using NVR4216-4KS2, the cameras are working fine and detected.

BTW, cameras and NVR are from China purchased by my client.

Thank you for your help and answers!

You have possibly run into the situation of the newer NVR firmware actively rejecting chinese region cameras. This began with NVR firmware version V3.215.0000001.0.R.20180326 .
