DHI-NVR608-32-4KS2 with V4.001.0000001.1, Build Date: 2020-08-12 - is there a newer update? I am having two cameras come in and out since this update. Cables and switch are good to go but for some reason there seems to be a glitch.

Currently there appear no newer version. I have currently running five devices with this firmware in different locations, none have your described problem. One had some trouble, when i upgraded without reseting it. It went working slow and disturbed. Done factory reset and set up all again. Now goes nicely. Hope this helps.

This is not the firmware issue, you have totally too high bitrate combined to all cameras. Try to lower bitrates about 5% and you will see how your problem solves.

That is too big gap, i am not sure if you still can flash back. Currenty can't find the 2016 FW anymore.

FWIW, I have been running V4.002.0000000.0, Build Date: 2021-07-27 downloaded directly from Dahua's International site, with zero problems. It is very stable and was a good update that gave me V4 firmware from V3. Update was seamless. I did do a factory default, before and after the update, which was probably not necessary. This is on an NVR608-32-4KS2.
So on the International Dahua Official site, there is a new version of firmware for the NVR608-4ks2 series NVR's. It is DH_NVR6XX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.002.0000000.1.R.220806. Just curious if anyone is running this yet, and what does it fix, if anything?

I am still on the following and haven’t had any issues. Hesitant on upgrading until I know what the changes are.
