Hello everyone, this question may encompass a number of areas of IP video; however, most likely relate to networking. Here's my questions.
I currently have 6 Hikvision IP cameras that are all connected via WiFi to my network. They're all connected to my Digital Watchdog Blackjack Cube NVR. I have regular issues where I will have drops. They will seemingly drop from the LAN and be unreachable. They will come back between a few seconds and minutes later. Their RSSI is anywhere from -55 to -78. Regardless of signal, they all seem to do it. They also seem to have the issue regardless of bit-rate, frame rate, etc. Here's the fun part. After it gets dark and the camera goes to B/W mode (IR) the issue is MUCH better.
I do have a mesh WiFi network with each AP having it's own Ethernet cable home ran to the router.
Lastly, what is the best practice for i-frame intervals? If I drop my FPS to 15, whats the right i-frame interval?
Anyone have any thoughts on this hot-mess of a camera issue I have?
