I've been running this for a few months now. So far seems okay although after a few heavy rain storms here in socal.

It is a BVTech 8-port PoE+ switch powering 3 cameras. 1 died due to moisture entry at the connector gland.

I know I shouldn't be using interior rj45 flat cables but I was being cheap. They seem to be doing fine. Although I'm slowly going to convert them all to my monoprice outdoor grade rounded rj45 like the two I have in there now.

looks nice and tidy.

I'd be curious to hear how it holds up in the sun/summer...
it may get quite HOT in that box, limiting switch life...

You make a darn good point. I think I will add a fan powered from one of the PoE ports. I'll use a PoE splitter to get 12V out of a DC and then splice a 12V 120mm computer fan.

edit: According to BV-Tech the operating range is:

Operating Temperature 32ºF to 131 ºF

In socal, we see as high as 115 ºF. I think I should be okay.

Been working great so far.... ZERO problems... been thru some serious torrential rainstorms in socal as well...

I have since converted those ethernet cables to outdoor UV-grade UTP solid-core bare cables and crimped my own connector. The cables are beefier and protect against harsh sun and UV.

The flat cables I got from Amazon, Jadaol brand. It was fine, the company says it's okay to use outdoor but I don't think it will last forever.

I have two 4208 NVR's that have been going strong in the Floriduh heat, humidity, and two hurricanes for 2 years now.

That is a pretty awesome setup, @bigredfish Are you doing battery backup too for power outages? It looks like you just have everything connected to a surge protector.
