Options for resetting password NVR5204P

Hello,

I’ll try to make this short. Im a board member for our HOA. We had someone break into our pool and bust down our pool gate. We tried to review the camera footage but no one remembers the password to get into the NVR unit. We have checked with the company that installed (7 years ago) all of the previous board members, etc. Nothing works.

I used the Hikvision SADP software to see it on the network and pull the serial number and model number (also got it from opening up the device). Emailed their support per their instructions and they gave me some bullshit response that it’s not their device.

Is there any way to reset the password or the forgot password code to get into the device? Maybe with a serial line or something? We don’t care about the device just want to see if we can get the data off of it. Is there a web UI where I can brute force it?

Looking for any documentation or ideas that you might have. Willing to provide proof i’m on the board if needed.

The model number suggests it's a Dahua NVR.

What's the full model number and firmware for the NVR, as shown by SADP?
I wasn't aware that SADP could find Dahua devices.

What about the cameras, did SADP also show them?

I got it unlocked.

Generate a reset code to change the pw of any Hikvision device w/ the serial number and date.

After I figured out what part of the number was the serial number that password reset generator worked.

They could have helped, they chose not to. Luckily someone reverse engineered their bullshit and posted it. Note to self never buy Hikvision.
