I have a vinyl sided house and plan to hide my runs behind the siding. I want to run outdoor pure copper cat 6, but no this cable shouldn't be run indoors. My thought for a few runs was to run through spots in my basement which will be finished off in the next few months. Do people typically run an indoor cable then swap to an outdoor type at the exterior walls? How do you handle this junction? Patch/structured wire panel? Am I over thinking?

TIA

Run the outdoor wire all the way back to your NVR/ BI Computer/ Switch setup.

Great, that solves things. Now if monoprice would get their cables back in stock..

Noticed your from franklin. I know a few people in that small town. I lived in Revere/Winthrop for a number of years. Good luck on your install

The only cable I’ve ever used is outdoor rated cabling regardless of indoor/outdoor runs.

Looking at toughcable too. Having a thought, do I need surge protectors for these outdoor runs? Does anyone make a multiple cable solution? The eth-sp seems silly to have half a dozen individual units.
