You can buy these for your yard, they're called alarm mines and they've been around for decades.

This is the best quality one I've seen, but it's expensive here (I forget who makes this one):

Yes, at least that's what he says.....if so, from that point until now he has probably been looking at some of his "acquaintances" a bit sideways. I know I would.
