I had a perfectly good and working 2132 with a known password. I logged directly to the camera, and chose reset all settings including password (I was giving my old camera to a family member). After reset, I went to sadp and it does not give me the option to change password and the old password doesn't work. If it makes a difference, this is a us version.

Any thoughts?

If the firmware version is after (I think) 5.3.0 then it may need 'Activation' and if SADP is earlier than version 3.x it doesn't support 'Activation'.
If you try the changed IP address with your browser (may have to change the PC IP address to match the address range) the web GUI will will tell you if the firmware version requires activation.
If it was earlier firmware, the Hikvision default values were 12345, 123456789abc
