So my ptz has gotten some nasty film on the inside, thankfully not in the lens portion but it's pretty bad in the entire ir portion. I was considering automotive headlight cleaner to try and help it. It's not affecting the ir much but it does look nasty and I'd sure love to clean it with something. It needs a real cleaner of some sort. Nothing conventional I've tried will clean it. Anyone tried the headlight cleaners?

Meguiars PlastiX is the only thing I can think of. Use it with a micro fibre, but it takes time. Its not a wipe on/off affair.

70% Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol and a clean micro fiber or cotton cloth.
Cleans well, safe on clear plastics and evaporates quickly.

Thanks. Rubbing alcohol huh? Hmm. The headlight cleaners are a real challenge and take a lot of work. Might try the alcohol.

wet sand it off with some very fine sandpaper then use plastic polish to buff out the scratches and restore clarity.
