Hi
I do hope I have the correct forum. I would like to ask for help please. It's for one of my customers who sells car parts.
He has a 4 camera security setup, the back is labelled: APOLLOS-HD4 P/N 1.1.03.51.0121
The front says it's made by Adata.
It was installed around 2011 and has been working fine and he uses PSS to watch the video, however he can't look at recorded video past the end of 2020 on PSS
I have managed to get into the device and found the settings (see below)
I have downloaded Smart PSS (version 2 followed by version 1) and configured the settings the same, all I get though when trying to do live view is "Searching Video..." Interestingly Smart PSS seems to read the settings from the DVR ok.
So, is Smart PSS not compatible? Is there an alternative we can use? What do you suggest?
We can still just used Internet Explorer and go into the Web Console but it's a bit dangerous.
THANKS
The settings are:
Channel 1:
Compression H264
Main Stream
  • Video audio tick/s
  • Resolution D1
  • FPS 25
  • Bit Rate Type CBR
  • Bit Rate 1024
  • (ref frame 758 to 4096)
  • Overlay - never
Extra (Assistant 1)
  • Video/Audio Ticks
  • QCIF
  • 25
  • CBR
  • 160
  • (48-256)

  • Channels 2-4 differences (just on main)
    • CIF not D1
    • Bit Rate 640
  • Audio: G711a

Bit of a long shot! Maybe the 37777 or 37778 standard view and playback ports for Dahua is different on the Adata/Qvis so the new not so smart PSS won't playback?

Thanks Paul very much.
Good shot, but I can get into the Adata device, I can see it has 4 cameras, and weirdly it appears that the camera characteristics are read too because it defaults to these, but pictures can't be seen.
Pictures can't be seen in live view or any recordings. Another message I did get at one stage with the newer version of Smart PSS is "Failed to get video input ability" and "Failed to start playback, NETSDK returns error".
I'm new to all this, so I don't even know if there are alternatives that I can try

Thanks again
Mike

Hi @JustAskSpike

Can you view on on the NVR's OSD ( On Screen Device - attached monitor )?

Can you determine what NVR OS version it is?

Perhaps the remote view station does not have the proper config for the video stream?

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

There is no screen attached in the NVR but I can connect using Internet Explorer, it's using this that I have found the camera specs.
From here I can see the live videos and recorded videos, I have given my customer this way of accessing the cameras.
It is a little dangerous as he could change the configuration by mistake, he would much prefer software like PSS / Smart PSS
Regarding the OS - not sure if I have it right, when I go into Query System Info and Version I get 2.608.000 2, build 2011-27
I have tried putting the specs from the NVR into Smart PSS - I think I got them right but the video does not play.

Cheers
Mike
