PoE Switch - 100 or 1000 Mbps Uplink

I've noticed some switches have a 100 or 1 Gigabit uplink port. When should u need the faster one?

always uplink at GigE, just takes a handfull of cameras combined to bring bandwidth levels near saturation.. 6x4MP Cameras would be over 60% loaded on FastEthernet, and anything more could be problematic.

cameras individually dont use alot of bandwidth, but combined they can be formidable.
