Question 1: excuse me ignorance as I'm not familiar with uplinks on POE switches... With the following switch, can I plug the router and PC into the two uplink ports, and then eight cameras into the POE ports without any issues?

Question 2: can I run four 2MP cameras (one 4231F and three 5231R-ZEs) off this PoE Extendeder using the above switch? All four runs from the extender would be less than 80 ft.

Thanks for your time!

1. You would need an sfp to ethernet adapter which are twenty bux each. You are better off using two of these https://www.amazon.com/GS1008HP-Gig...yxel+1900&qid=1560476036&s=electronics&sr=1-2 or one of those and this smaller unit https://www.amazon.com/GS1005HP-Gig...zyxel+poe&qid=1560476065&s=electronics&sr=1-5.

2. Yes but if you have power at the location simply use the smaller gs1005. https://www.amazon.com/GS1005HP-Gig...zyxel+poe&qid=1560476065&s=electronics&sr=1-5

Note none of these are managed. If you are specifically looking for a managed switch you need something else.

Appreciate it very much, sir. I went with your recommendation of the Zyxel GS1008HP, 8 Port
