Getting the hang of it

My first post here to this great forum, I have been reading and came across a thread where a user had issues for using port 80 on the NVR as it was pulling up the camera on his mob app, since it was using the same port.

I would like to avoid this from the start by learning the correct port scheme from you guys.

The setup will be a none poe 32ch NVR with 10 or so IP cameras connected to a POE Netgear switch.

Will this scheme of port forwarding work?

NVR HTTP port to 90
RTSP port to 9554
Server port to 9000

IP cam port to 80

Also, if I dont need to watch the cams directly, do I still need/should to port forward their port? which will be 80.

Do you recommend a better port forwarding scheme for none POE NVR.

Thanks a bunch in advance.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum!
Assuming this is a hikvision NVR, you should not need to forward the http port at all. You should only have to forward the server port...You will not have to forward the cameras themselves you can still watch the cameras via the nvr..port forwarding is the same regardless of whether you use an NVR with poe built in or not..

Thanks for the warm welcome and thank you much for clarifying.
