Power usage: BI/Optex vs NVR?

I know I saw a thread before discussing this, but my search fu fails me.

What is the power draw difference between an I5-6500 Optex/EliteDesktop system running BI vs a 16 port NVR w/poe?

Dahua cams probably totalling 8 or 9.

it will depend on your load which will vary by your settings...at 30 percent load you are looking at 25-30w on the BI machine.

15-20w for NVR w/out PoE (depends on number of drives).. comparing a NVR w/PoE against a PC-NVR w/out PoE is not horribly fair but in the end the difference is not that huge compared to a 200W+ old Xeon server.. if you build a PC-NVR right and dont use some old junk from the recycling bin then its not worth fretting over unless your off the grid.
