When I click on an alert on the right side of BI, the object, a bicycle in this case, is already halfway through the screen. How do I get the alert to point to a time earlier, either frames or seconds?

I am using direct to disk recording on 10Hikvision and 1 Huisun (specs below)

I can move the pre-trigger frames all around with no change, 50, 25, 100, etc... but I expect this since I am recording continuously
i-frames match the frame rate

I am recording continuously, so really all I want is when I click on the alert, for it to start displaying earlier... someone on a bike is already halfway through the screen... sure, I can manually scroll backwards, but that is a pain...

I did lower the 'MAKE TIME" (motion sensor min. duration) to 0.4sec and it helped some, but if I go too low, I pick up too many false alerts...

hikvision(DS-2CD2132F-IS, DS-2CD2632F-IS, etc)
cam01 1280x720 max 30.0fps (333334) currently 25fps-480kB/s
cam02 1280x720 max 20.0fps (500000) currently 15fps-50.5kB/s
cam03 1280x720 max 17.5fps (571429) currently 15fps-52.5kB/s
cam04 1280x720 max 20.0fps (400000) currently 9.9fps-484kB/s
cam05 1280x720 max 17.5fps (571429) currently 15fps-485kB/s
cam06 1280x720 max 17.5fps (571429) currently 15fps-485kB/s
cam07 1280x720 max 17.5fps (571429) currently 15fps-30kB/s
cam08 1280x720 max 25.0fps (400000) currently 15fps-40kB/s
cam09 1280x720 max 15.0fps (666667) currently 15fps-30kB/s
cam10 1280x720 max 30.0fps (333334) currently 15fps-480kB/s

Huisun Gen2 10x PTZ camera
cam11 1920x1080 max 30.0fps (333334) currently 25fps-400kB/s

BI 4.3.9.7 x64
I am at 15% CPU on a i7 and using 1.15G Ram, recording to a single dedicate WD Purple 4TB drive, so performance is not an issue

This has been reported by others who record continuously. I would email support and ask for the change.

I have the same issue as Mike and am looking for an answer. In my case, I am reviewing alerts in Blue Iris IOS app on my iPhone and the object that triggered the alert is sometimes already out of the video when I play back the alert.

The OP's issue is specific to recording continuously. Otherwise the cause for your issue is setting related. Are you recording continuously?

Then you need to email support and ask for that function even when recording continuously.

FYI - the request i sent asked for that, and proposed using the existing 'pre-trigger' frames setting to just move the alert pointer for a minimum of programming effort...

Great @mjcother . Thanks! Let us know if you happen to find out if it gets added to a release. This would improve usability of alerts.

I got this yesterday (sunday)... "I see a way that this may be implemented in a straightforward way ... maybe I can get this into the update this week."
