I'll be putting a camera in the corner of a covered patio. One wall has a door while the other has a window and a slider. The camera I want (Dahua 4231) is available with either a 100 degree or 87 degree angle of view. One would show at least some of each door/window while the other would show none if aimed straight out. Which would you go with and why?

87 degree, the 100 degree would make it difficult to ID anyone unless they were within 10 ft of the cam.
If there is a choke point where a perp would have to come through, you want to concentrate on getting a good shot of that area.

Is there anything lost by not having the doors/windows in view?

The camera will go at the intersection of the walls and the patio cover, to the left of the brown door. The second picture shows the view from my Dahua 5231R-Z test rig, set to its widest which is about 97 degrees. I do plan on having two cameras on the patio cover: One on the left side aimed up the side of the house toward the front and another where the wind chime is, aimed toward the ladder.
