I needed 50 ft of 1'' EMT conduit and stopped at home depot and they were sold out. I stopped at mars electric which is a local electrical supply house and they want $68 for a 10'stick! WTF? Home depot sells it for $17! Needless to say I stopped at another HD and found some.

Sounds like a "stick UP" to me....sorry, I just couldn't resist. :winktongue:

We have a local supply place here that will jack up the price to double or triple if you are not a contractor.
Before I retired, I bought at them all the time, but once I no longer worked there......
I just call the place and get a price before I go in, so they can't do the bait and switch.

I have also found a small local owned supply that is glad to sell things, so I support him all I can.

I get stuff from a local supply house and I get random prices. Sometimes they give me prices that are cheaper than HD and sometimes they are more. Who knows.

Prices have gone up, I paid $9.00 for a 10' 3/4" conduit at HD. I used to pay $1.98 for it, this is insane. Get use to.these prices, this all happened due to.the stroke of a some body's pen.

You don't want to know what I paid for 10 6x6 10 footers in CCA (pressure treated). Had to authorize the charge on the credit card, no kidding.
