The average person is like a deer in headlights when you talk about IP addresses, RTSP, or even drilling holes and running cable. If they can't set it up in 10 minutes from unboxing to watching on their cell phone then it might as well not exist.

He could have tested 2431T that costs 70-80 USD, quite sure it would win each of the camera he tested, however, I don't know about cloud integration and such.
I know you can operate a camera without an NVR (just with SD card) and use a power adapter (to save costs on a POE injector / switch).

Holy crap, how annoying!
I like Project Farm; he does un-sponsored, unbiased testing and lets the results speak for themselves without trying to sell you on one product over another, but not a fan of this comparison because we all know these cameras are shit and it's because of reviews like this that it's hard to convince anyone otherwise and get them off of cloud based, wifi cameras onto similarly priced, if not cheaper, wired, better, local systems.
