Projector - DLP or LCD; 4K or 1080P

Sweet. Now I need to find the write-up that said it didn't have lens shift because I didn't look at it further at that point.

With the pixel shifting does that minimize the screen door effect?

They say the DLP doesn't suffer from that as much, yet some have the rainbow effect.

I like that the DLP is smaller, but I am still not sold on that.
 
I havnt seen screendoor effect on either projrctor. I never had dlp which i guess does have rainbow effect. It is a beast though.

Oh yeah my Optoma HZ39HDR has the first rainbow effects I have ever noticed. I think the excuse was because it has fewer segments on its color wheel. I still don't really notice them most of the time, but they are definitely worse than other DLP projectors I have seen.
 
Benq 800tk is true 4k for $1100 but doesnt have vertical/ horiz shift. And shorter throw ratio

Yeah the Benq 850 was on my list but no shift. and the shorter throw means I have to move it up closer and probably in front of me instead of behind.

I think every DLP I have looked at would be shorter throw but the Epson4010 can go where mine is now (but need a different mount as they were not universal when I got my first one)
 
I love my Epson and i used same mount my original o e came with. I think epson has best range for any room placement with its vert/horiz shift. My room is 15x22 and ceiling is 7’2” i think.

The LG AU/HU810P has vertical and horizontal lens shift as well as a dual laser light source and puts out approx 2800 lumens.

There are lots of projectors roughly the size of a (thick) game console, but I have only seen lens shift on substantially larger models than that.
 
So I thought my old Sanyo PLV70 was a beast at 6.60" x 12.60" x 16.90" and this Epson 4010 is larger at 7.60" x 20.5" x 17.70"

I would have thought in 20 years, the size of these could have got smaller LOL. I guess they are if I go DLP.
