I'm looking to install a PTZ camera on a 40ft tower. Looking for something that can really zoom in. I have seen the X45 zoom camera's, is there anything better?
I will be adding this to my blueiris so I am not concerned about the built in AI capabilities.
Let me know if such a beast exists.
The zoom specification isn't the most important for your request. You should be looking at the field of view angle number at max optical zoom, as that is the actual "how zoomed in is the view" specification.

Also keep in mind that as the zoom factor increases, the visible effect of the zoom decreases. To cut the field of view in half, you need to double the zoom factor. So the difference between 25x and 50x is not as big as it sounds like.
Perhaps a better way to think of it is to compare the DORI Distance from the spec sheet, because this takes into account the actual field of view you get, as well as the pixel density.
Based on resolution and zoom factor alone, without taking into account the actual field of view (calculated from sensor size and lens focal length), some cameras will underperform because they have a particularly wide starting point compared to other PTZ cams.
