PTZ5A4M-25X Tracking issues - Dahua SD5A425GA-HNR

I've hit a snag updating mine with the new FW as I'm shut out of the VPN, hopefully I'll get that fixed this evening

I’m having technical issues again today but quick review it doesn’t seem to be tracking vehicles as much if at all.

More as I get things sorted with that router this week

With Andy's new FW I'm seeing good improvement.

Far fewer cars being tracked, not a single garbage can so far (crossing fingers)
And human tracking is improved.

Is it as good as my SD6 series? No. But again it's 1/2 the price. I'd call it acceptable now (with just 2 days testing so reserve the right to comeback if I see anything really messed up)

*Had to go to 60 on Tracking ratio

Good human tracking even with obstacles. Clear improvement

Still picks up some vehicles, not as many. Room for improvement

Most impressive human capture. Very Good!
-Low light
-Dark subject, low contrast
-This is at far reach about 400ft
-This specific scene previously was very bad for this camera. It used to pick up trash can, miss human, trigger but not find human, pick up car.

Let this thread serve as a reminder to any NOOB PTZ owners that they are not plug-n-play cameras!

Even the long time autotracking PTZ users spend lots of time setting up a new PTZ.

@quiet.tea this fimrware is a special fw for the PTZ5A4M to improve the tracking, i will work with @bigredfish to make more working for this ptz and make it perfect.
Thanks a lot for the reporting the tracking issues!

The mini-ptz tracks great.

Yeah I've not seen any real problems with the Mini tracking. Granted my scene is rather tight and short distances.
Occasionally it will spin way past to the left when it loses a track (legitimately because target disappears) but mines been pretty good. Just wish it had a 1/1.8 sensor ;)

It is the opposite for me but my PTZ5A4M is located higher up facing an open area while the mini is facing large trees with hedges that sometimes block the lower half of someone walking by.

In that case it is more of an issue of your install location than it is the PTZ.

I would suggest increasing the target size in hopes of it zooming in on just the top half of the person.

Hopefully that works - I have mine set to just be the upper half of the body in the field of view and it tracks great.
