[Q] Dahua NVR608-64-4KS2 Upgrade to v4 Firmware

I Currently have (2) NVRs, described in the title, running firmware "881399_General_NVR6XX-4KS2_Eng_V3.216.0000000.1.R.190614.BIN", without issue. I have tried to attach the file here to review as a ZIP and a BIN but it fails to attach.

I want to upgrade to v4 for the new UI but am hesitant. I see the v4 firmware available in the "multi-language" format but not "general" and not "English", like my current firmware.

Can I upgrade to the newest v4 firmware using the the following file, "DH_NVR6XX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.001.0000000.0.R.200430" ?

Its been posted a few times but I do not know if the two firmware's are compatible.

I upgraded an NVR608-32-4KS2 that was purchased from Andy, using the firmware you listed above (200430) without issue. Except, using SmartPSS it will no longer play back using 1x, 2x, 4x, etc. which is very annoying. Everything else works fine, and the Web GUI also has no issues. The AI portion of the interface works well, too.

Thanks. Did you have to format the drives or anything? I noticed that when upgrading firmware and have playback issues, sometimes the drives being formatted fixes the playback. Do you have issues with playback speed directly on the NVR or is it just SmartPss? Is the v4 GUI worth the upgrade? Does V4 introduce any new features over V3 ?

The HDD was new, and needed to be formatted anyway. The playback speed problem is only with SmartPSS, not with the NVR directly. The V4 brings the new interface with the AI features that were not present on the V3 firmware. It's worth the upgrade as there are other features like the drive estimator that gives you how many days of storage are available for the number of TB's of disk space.
 
My DHI-NVR608-32-4KS2 has been a disappointment in terms of the performance and firmware updates. Slow and sluggish with the Skyhawk and the Ironwolf - probably time I move to to Blue Iris.

i Upgraded my NVR608-4KS2 from v3build 2015 to NVR6XX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.001.0000001.1.R.200812 but don't upgraded to the latest version( NVR6XX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.002.0000000.0.R.210727) and there are some problems after upgrading...for example don't restored from factory default and not uninitialized...i don't know why
 
NVR6XX-4KS2 models require total factory reset before and after V4 upgrade, HDD reformat is not required.
Latest public FW so far is NVR6XX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.001.0000001.1.R.200812, and works OK

The International Dahua site has this version, DH_NVR6XX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.002.0000000.0.R.210727, which I installed without incident. Even after a full factory reset and a reformat of the HDD, I still cannot get SmartPSS to play back video using the 2x to 8x playback option. It plays, but it skips frames like crazy and it's totally unuseable. I'm going to try other versions of SmartPSS to see if there is any difference. Current SmartPSS is 2.00.1 from 07-25-2017.

I upgraded my NVR608-32-4KS2 in my office to v4 and i didn't factory reset before or after that & there is no problem.because last version of firmware is 2018build but all of 2016builds get in trouble....so, my question is why! older NVR get some problem for upgrading?

Did anyone have problem with p2p. Upgraded to DH_NVR6XX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.002.0000000.2.R.230220; p2p shows online, but can't seem to initiate a connection... same problem with two nvr608 at two different locations...
