My Q-See starts up, does the hardware check, screen goes blank and never comes back on.

Tried connecting to it through the network, but that was a no go.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is it a Analog Coax BNC DVR ?

That's the exact one I think. It sure looks like it. Except mine doesn't have that thing in the middle sticking out. It has the 8 cam connections, the little green alarm box, The same power on switch and audio jacks

hmm ..

Eventually these boxes will die .. most of what I know better are ip kits, so hopefully there more trouble shooting info you can find to determine if this can be recovered.

If you've got good cabling runs to good locations, I would look for a new DVR .. Q-see used to be mostly Dahua OEM, so this could be a Dahua OEM DVR .. also if you can not find trouble shooting for this Q-see DVR, look to see if you can find general trouble shooting for a Dahua OEM DVR
