Can anyone tell me if it is possible to change wifi routers without having to redo all your cameras over, if you keep the new one with the same name and IP as the old router.I run my cameras to blue iris on my PC no NVR or DVR.

If you make the SSID, password, and IP address subnet range the same, then no you don't have to redo everything.....but you shouldn't have your cameras going thru the router to begin with...they should be either on a VLAN or dual NIC that is independent of the router....

Since you are running BI you simply throw a $20 NIC in it and connect the camera switch to it instead of the router and then assign the cameras an IP address subnet that is not the same as your internet. And the existing ethernet in the computer stays for internet to that computer.

Or you can go the more expensive and complicated managed switch route.

From this statement I take it your cams are WIFI cams? We generally do not advise using WIFI for security cams, for many reasons.

Do these cams run into a POE switch? How are they powered?
