Question about SMD

Hi, I have a IPC-T5442T-ZE. When you set an area under Video Detection does the SMD use that area? The camera is slightly zoomed looking down my 60ft driveway. I have the area selected to be just the driveway but the camera is picking up people walking across the street on the other sidewalk. It's working quite well, but I don't really need to know of people on the other side of the street. The system Version is V2.800.0000000.16.R, Build Date: 2020-05-29.

Don't take this as the last word, but my understanding is that SMD is always looking full-frame.
