Question regarding face detection on dahua cameras

Hi Fam,
Been only using blueiris so this is a quick dumb question please?
If the NVR has a feature of face detection but the camera don't have this feature, does it still work? Or does it needs to be both NVR and camera?

I'm using a DHI-NVR2116-I (has built in face detection, one channel) with a Dahua N43AN52 wedge cam which does not have built in face detection. Face detection works great for me.

Dahua has different solutions to this problem.
1. If the NVR has - I in the name, then it has built-in AI features such as face detection, so you can use the video stream from a cheaper camera without face detection.
2. If the NVR does not have such an index in the name, it can only (depending on the series) work with cameras with face detection.
