Ok just a really quick question here.. I have a good chunk of my wiring done for my new system, but I'm curious to know if a cellar in my basement would be considered too cool or damp as a place to have my NVR? Or if I should simply stick to having it in the main portion of the house where the temperature and humidity is normal all the time.

Temp shouldn't be an issue. Humidity would depend on how humid it gets, but at the levels where it would be concern you'd probably be more worried about mold.

I keep the majority of my servers, routers, switches, and my NVR's in my basement for the last 20 years, yea it might be a little humid at times but has never been a issue.
