Hopefully we'll see this before the end of the year and it will be Haswell/Broadwell only. I'm guessing it will only be for Linux base OS's but as long as your VM is Windows it should work for BI. In my case I'll be running unRAID as the base and NAS with VM's on top.

Has anyone tried this already? It should be working in unRAID 6.3: IGD Device Assignment to VMs
According to that topic it should work on all CPU's that are Sandy Bridge or newer, instead of being limited to Haswell/Broadwell.
My plan is to run Blue Iris on an unRAID server so if someone could confirm if this actually works that would be nice. Otherwise I'll try to test it myself .

I can confirm this is working, however not in unRAID. There seems to be a bug in unRAID which prevents the passthrough of Kaby Lake CPU's to work correctly. In ESXi 6.5 it works fine though.
