Hello,

I am in the process of setting up Blue Iris (BI) and a PoE switch to manage and run about 24 IP cameras in my home.

As part of this upgrade, I am also wanting to organize my computer/network room, which is about 200sq ft.

I was recommended that I should buy a Patch panel, to put in my CAT 5/CAT 6 jacks, as well as any coaxial ports, e.g. for my antenna.

I was also recommended to get a rack, either wall mounted, or rolling, to put my CPU, maybe the monitor, the ISP modem, the switch, and Power UPC.

Can anyone please recommend a good rack and also a patch panel??

Is Monoprice the way to go or are there other good options?

I am located in the USA.

Thank you!

HI Theox,

I like monoprice for a lot of things, however not racks nor patch panels. Their patch panels had enough bad reviews that I decided to go with trendnet models from Amazon.

I found Tripplite makes nice racks... found a deal from Dell awhile back, you can also keep an eye in Craigslist for racks.

I use the OmniMount RE Series (RE18), full enclousure rolling rack, with exhaust motors on top. Nice product, a little expensive, but less than Middle Atlantic
