I have a DVR that is connected to a router.
I would like to get the stream in real time of a single camera to be post processed.

I wondered, is there a way to get a direct access to a camera that is connected to DVR?

One more questions, are there known protocols that DVR uses?

That totally depends on the brand and model and firmware revision of the DVR/NVR.

For streaming video, it's generally RTSP that's used. With a variety of codecs, depending on the device and its settings.
