BI release 4.8.4.3 x64. (Been running this server since 2015).
Cam = IPC-T54IR-AS-3.6mm-S3 , V3.142.0000000.0.R, Build Date: 2024-05-16 (recently purchased from @EMPIRETECANDY).

I have been running a BI server since 2015 with out issues. I recently expanded my business space and added more cameras.

The new space has an entrance that has windows and a windowed door. The entrance is close enough to a busy street, so that at night time all the lights from the cars shine into the entrance area.

The new camera I installed is constantly being triggered non stop. I am only using the BI "Trigger" option set to "Motion Sensor". My BI "Motion Sensor" settings are below.

The new camera I purchased is a T54IR-AS.

According to the camera spec sheet, the T54IR-AS supports the following.

Intrusion, tripwire, fast moving (the three functions support the classification and accurate detection of vehicle and human);
loitering detection, people gathering, and parking detection
Smart abandoned object; smart missing object
SMD 3.0
Uses deep learning algorithms and works with back-end devices to accurately match targets, such as people and motor vehicles,
and search through live and recorded videos to quickly locate targets.
AI SSA : Yes
Face detection; track; snapshot; snapshot optimization; optimal face snapshot upload; face enhancement; face exposure;
face attributes extraction including 6 attributes and 8 expressions; face snapshot set as face, one-inch photo or custom;
snapshot strategies (real-time snapshot, quality priority and optimization snapshot); face angle filter; optimization time setting.
Tripwire people counting, generating and exporting report (day/week/month/year); people counting in area and queue management;
generating and exporting report (day/week/month); 4 rules can be set for tripwire, people counting in area and queue management.
Heat Map: Yes
Motor vehicle, non-motor vehicle, face, human body detection; track; snapshot; snapshot optimization; optimal face snapshot upload.
Motor vehicle attributes: vehicle type, vehicle color, vehicle logo and other attributes : seatbelt, smoking, calling.
Non-motor vehicle attributes: type, color, number of people, top type and color, hat.
Human body attributes: gender, top/bottom type and color, bag, hat and umbrella.
Face attributes: gender, age, expressions, glasses, face mask and beard.

The other cameras I have been using with my BI server since 2015 did not have all these new AI features that the new camera I purchased have. Also, I did not have a camera mounted in a location that would pickup so many moving light reflections.

What is the best way to configure BI and/or the camera itself to do a better job at ignoring all the various light reflections, but also still trigging when people are detected?

Thanks

+1 above on IVS.

Use camera AI and not BI motion if you can. That is an old version of BI.

If you can't use ONVIF triggers, that alone is worth the cost of the BI update.

Politely disagree if the point is to cut down false alerts. Two AI verifying is better than one AI.

I get ZERO false alerts with my camera AI.

Adding CodeProject on top of the camera AI only adds additional time and potential for CodeProject to wonk out and then no alerts.

BTW I do use CodeProject on a few cameras and every couple of days it does conk out and I have to restart it, so if I were depending on it for my AI alerts, I would be up the creek.

I get a lot of false tripwire alerts on windy days, from moving shadows and tree branches. I've learned pretty well how to ignore them.

+1 above.

Especially if you are using BI, some cameras have had the MD/SMD turned on by BI.
I'm aware of that and have the detection grids all off, sensitivity zero, and threshold at max. On the false trips, BI says RuleEngine/LineDetection. I do have the IVS sensitivity at max so it trips on mice, sparrows, etc. One of the best catches was a scorpion walking across the driveway. A possible explanation is that I'm in the minority that doesn't use human and vehicle filters.

Yeah that would make a difference LOL

Would there happen to be a video instruction guide showing how to setup IVS?

There are so many options in this camera...

So I should make sure the following is disabled...
Event>Video Detection>Motion Detection: Disabled
Event>Smart Motion Detection: Disabled

I should have the following Enabled.
AI>Video Intelligence Config>Acupick: Enabled ?

or should I have Acupick disabled?

Acupick Enabled .jpg

If I leave Acupick Enabled and go into IVS, do I setup up "Rule Config" or "Global Config" or both?

When in "Rule Config" would it be best to use Tripwire or Intrusion?

If I select Tripwire, I don't know what all those options mean.. "Rule", "Pixel", "Min Size", "Max Size", "AI Rule"...

Is there some sort of massive users guide that explains all of these things? Or some video training I can watch?

I use youtube and google searches to help me find potential answers.
sometimes you have to wade thru a few to find a Gem.
